I stayed up until 1:30 am in Basel last night (which is 7:30 pm in DC). I watched CNN to see how things might develop in and around the US Capitol. Eventually, I noticed I was completely exhausted, so I went to bed and fell asleep almost immediately. I woke up briefly shortly after 6 am to Andrea's alarm; after a trip to the bathroom, I went back to bed until 9 am. Just over seven hours of sleep isn't so bad, of course, but despite my not having drunk any alcohol, I have felt hungover all day – from being drunk on the news of a fascist assault in Washington DC.
