When I began learning Spanish since November 2020, my sister introduced me to the Anki flashcard system, which I use for vocabulary and verb conjugations. In early 2021, I began slowly reading books by two of my favorite authors, Gabriel García Márquez and Jorge Luis Borges (and raiding them for more vocabulary). In early 2022, I added a novel by our friend Agathe Cortes. Now that I'm planning to co-teach a course on Puerto Rican poetry in the fall, I've begun using Duolingo to work on listening comprehension, and I'll be taking a course in Valencia next month, as well as another course in Basel just before the fall semester starts.
