If you say I am wrong I will tell you what my *wrong rule was. My rule is correct for all your words but I'm not sure if that is what you had in mind. It seems too simple.
LIMP doesn't belong on the list (the two deleted comments reflect a brief moment of confusion I had about this ...).
Ok. Then the rule is not that every word begin and end with a consonantal phoneme.
This is driving me nuts Andrew. Maybe you could offer a clue, even if it's only as to whether the answer is technical/grammatical, as the last commentator thought, or more simply logical, as in crossword clues.
