Dylan in Basel

What more do I need to say? I am very excited that Bob Dylan will be playing in Basel on April 14! I'll be there!

I last saw Bob Dylan with, believe it or not, Carlos Santana. Cannot remember who played first; pretty sure Santana opened for Bob. I saw him in Rialto, California. He was very boring as a performer, which really surprised me. This was around 1996.
I absolutely love his music and lyrics though.
How does it feeeel; to be on your ohhh-ennnn, like a rolling stone?
Lay, lady lay, lay across my big red bed...
You wanted my heart; I gave you my soul/Don't think twice, it's all right...
How many roads can a man wawww-lk down, before they call him a man...
The answer, my friend...is blowing in the wind. The answer is blowing in the wind...
Hope you enjoyed that little montage - live from a Bob Dylan fan in Homer, Alaska!

I saw him in Konstanz in 1996. Dave Matthews opened, and the violin player from the DM Band sat in with Dylan. Bob was visibly pleased to have that added to the sound. I liked his noodly guitar solos (missed now that he's stopped playing much guitar).

Amazing that he's still performing. More power to his elbow, etc!

I love Bob Dylan, though mainly the early, classic stuff. His sense of irony is acute and delicious. Though his straight love lyrics are beautiful too. His work has informed some of my own poetry at times, especially perhaps "Lay, Lady, Lay" ... oh, and one or two others!

Re that post you replied to on my own blog, Andrew (she says in a cryptic fashion), I took it down because it may actually interfere with the complaint process to publicise the copyright theft in that way. But thanks for commenting!
