84 concerts in 2024, including six by Andreas Schärer and brilliant shows by Jason Moran, Taylor Swift, and Tamikrest

In 2023, I saw 73 concerts; in 2024, I went to 84 concerts. The musicians I saw most were Andreas Schärer (six times), Kalle Kalima and Fabio Gouvea (four times each), and George Ricci and Alice Auclair (three times each). My best jazz concert was Jason Moran playing his solo piano arrangements of Duke Ellington compositions at the Martinskirche in Basel on 8 April, and my best non-jazz concert was Taylor Swift at the Letzigrund in Zurich on 9 July. The best dancing was again at Basel concerts by musicians from Africa: concerts by Vieux Farka Touré, Oum, and Fatoumata Diawara at the Volkshaus, and another brilliant Tamikrest concert at Gannet.
