Bipartisanship, political hardball, and outreach if Biden wins and the Democrats win the Senate

Even if Joe Biden wins the Presidency and the Democrats win the Senate, Trump's influence on the development of the Republican Party will still be there, along with his supporters. I'm suspicious of calls for "bipartisanship" – I think the Democrats should play political hardball more than they have in the past, as the Republicans have been doing for decades now. Further, dangerous ideas just have to be defeated politically rather than compromised with. Yet if 40% of the active voting population supports Trump, then some work needs to be done to reach out to whoever in that group might still be willing to shift their positions away from cruelty and hierarchy.
