Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone

In anticipation of the publication of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows on July 7, I decided to re-read the first six volumes, one per month. As the publication date gets nearer, I will stop paying attention to the world, so as to not have the plot of the last book ruined for me by reviewers or other inadvertent betrayers of surprise information. And I finished my January reading a few days ago, The Philosopher's Stone. As a result of reading it, I have resolved not to read the HP series again, as I realized that I do not want to have to read about Draco Malfoy ever again. That's too much like being bullied in junior high.

My favorite line in the first book is still: "Before we begin our banquet, I would like to say a few words. And here they are: Nitwit! Blubber! Oddment! Tweak! Thank you."

(It's cool that there is a detailed Wikipedia page about this unpublished book.)

(And now that I have written this, I have been unable to find on-line confirmation for the July 7 publication date!)

OOH, I was planning to do the same thing! Bruce thinks I won't need too much time to read them, but he reads a lot faster than I do...& the books get a lot longer the further into the series you are.
Regarding the July 7 release date, ain't happenin'. Best places to check for this sort of info are (as you probably already know):
mugglenet.com or Rowling's own site at jkrowling.com (two sites I troll frequently).
The last scuttlebutt I saw was that July 7th was unlikely as a release date for the book because the next movie comes out on July 13. Some folks are guessing the book could come out on July 31 (Harry's bday) but other's are betting on Halloween (Deathly Hallows). Who knows?
Speaking of 07/07/07, I wonder if Styx has plans to re-release Grand Illusion...? I should check out online info about that eh?

Well, if the publication date is Halloween, or Winter Solstice, then you have plenty of time to reread them!

Apparently, I was wrong! I had read a lot of articles & theories putting the release date of "Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows" later in the year. But this morning it was announced as July 21st.
Guess I'd better get to re-reading the other 6, eh?

And now I won't be able to read it until August 9, as we will be in the U.S. on July 21, and purist that I am, I want to read the British edition!
